i killed a bird

I was driving on Spring Garden St. in Philadelphia today. I looked in my rearview mirror momentarily and when my eyes returned to the road, I saw three birds about three feet in front of my car. There was almost no time for me to slow down. Two of them got out of the way but the third was a little too slow. There was a thump and then a flurry of assorted bird parts in the air. It was sad. That kind of stuff makes me worry about hitting more important things, like someone's pet, or someone.

In other news, I'm finding it increasing difficult to get accurate information from the Web. I can't tell you how many times in the last month or two that I've gotten lost because of Mapquest, or tried to go a store listed on their website that has closed down, or gotten to the store and had the store tell me they don't carry the item listed on their website anymore. It's quite frusturating, and it means that I am going to have to start using the ancient telephone again. Grr.

Without overstating, tonight's Yankees/Red Sox game could wind up being the greatest baseball game in a decade. If you have even a remote interest in baseball, watch this game!
