Apologies for the downtime today. Overnight, my ISP decided to change information relating to connecting to the Internet without informing anyone, so I (and thus you) were left in the lurch. Nice, huh?

Despite my previous rants, today I purchased my first cell phone. Anyone who knows my feelings on the matter should find it fitting that my first act with my new phone was to place it on vibrate. Already I find myself fighting the temptation to customize my phone to give it that "oh-so-personal" feel, to play games far inferior to DUTI, or to let it ring loudly in a restaurant until my eyes begin to bleed.

Perhaps even more disturbing than that were the "10 Driver Safety Tips" that were included with my purchase. Of particular note was the following:

5. Do not take notes or look up phone numbers while driving. If you are reading an address book or business card, or writing a "to-do" list while driving a car, you are not watching where you are going. It is common sense. Don't get caught in a dangerous situation because you are reading or writing and not paying attention to the road or nearby vehicles.

It was after reading this that I decided that anyone I will ram anyone I see on the road who is taking notes while operating a 2,000 pound mass of steel at high speeds, if only so I can beat them mercilessly after we pull over to exchange insurance information. Who's with me?? <sound of crickets>

...Well anyway, I am getting hooked on this neat little game Rebecca turned me on to called Snood. It's like Tetris. You should check it out.

Attention K-Mart shoppers, attention K-Mart shoppers: Driving Under the Influence 1.0 is now available in aisle 6. If you find any bugs or would like to suggest enhancements for the next version, feel free to let me know.

Two links of note:

  • You can buy your very own Red Stapler just like the one from Office Space
  • I understand the rationale for this, but doesn't anyone find this a little weird? Maybe there should be a syphillis-infested Muppet, too...
